There isn’t another school in the Treasure Valley getting as much preseason hype as Capital.
That’s what happens when a 2-win team from a year ago nearly wins the annual Famous Idaho Potato Bowl’s 7-on-7 passing tournament.
Although the event is played without pads and linemen, the preseason tournament oftentimes gives us an early look at what’s to come in Idaho High School football.
This year’s magic 8 ball looks promising for Capitol and new head coach Kevin Hastin.
Led by quarterback AJ Danaha and returning wide receiver Brody Call, the Eagles made it all the way to the tournament’s championship game where they fell to last year’s real football runner-up, Meridian.
Hastin is the second year coach at Capital in the last two seasons.
He replaces Jay Bohner who resigned at the end of last year.
