It’s tough losing a top scorer and rebounder. But Clark County is determined to make the best of it in 2015-16, and the Bobcats are well-stocked to shoulder the load of graduating their best player.
Mariah Farr is gone but Clark County returns five key players this season that will look to spread the scoring and rebounding load around to generate a balanced attack. The Bobcats have returning all-conference player Morgan Laird, along with Maggie May, Abby Grover, Paige Shenton and Brandi Stone back – all of whom are underclassmen this season, so there’s even more potential to come from this bunch.
The offensive approach may not be flashy, but for Clark County it’ll have to be effective. Clock management to keep the games close will be key in order for the Bobcats to continue to grow and reach their potential. Defensively, they’ll need to switch defenses regularly, with emphasis on full-court defense in order to keep opponents under pressure no matter where the ball is on the court.
The head-to-head battles with Leadore could be two of the key games of the season for Clark County, as the Bobcats will try to match up with their area rivals. With hard work and a positive attitude, coach Darrin May thinks that Clark County can continue to build in a positive direction in 2015-16.
