After broadcasting a total of 450 games live during the 2016/2017 academic year, IdahoSports.com is ready to welcome in its 20th anniversary year with a great slate of high school football games.
The opening week schedule is highlighted by eight games at Holt Arena, including six as part of the 2017 Rocky Mountain Rumble. The action in the dome gets started on Thursday, Aug. 24 as Pocatello welcomes in Wood River and Burley travels to face off with Century in a doubleheader.
On the other side of the state, Ridgevue begins year number two on the gridiron, traveling to Dona Larsen Park to take on the Boise Braves in a Thursday night battle.
In total for the opening week of action, IdahoSports.com will be providing live and free video webcasts of 16 games from throughout the state. Some of the Friday highlights include Gooding at South Fremont, Lakeland at Skyview, Mountain View at Eagle and Homedale at New Plymouth. To round things out on Saturday, four more games are slated to take place from Holt Arena, along with the Emmett Huskies traveling to play Timberline.
Seven more games are scheduled for week two, with a big Whitepine League affair between Prairie and Genesee among the games to watch. A rivalry matchup featuring Snake River at Shelley will be the East Idaho Game Night broadcast, with Z103, Local News 8 Sportsline and EastIdahoNews.com once again joining in on the fun. Fans can also catch the Eagle Mustangs heading to Pocatello to square off with the Highland Rams.
Week three sees an exciting slate of broadcasts starting with two Thursday nights contests as Boise takes on Timberline and Preston heads to 4A defending champion Skyline. On Friday, Sept. 8 Minico and Burley will do battle in the annual rivalry game for the first time with Tony Cade on the sideline for the Bobcats. Some other big matchups include 3A defending state champion Fruitland heading to Gooding against the perennial power Senators and the annual 'Civil War' between Hillcrest and Bonneville.
On Friday, Sept. 15 another highly anticipated rivalry game in the Magic Valley will be the Magic Valley Game Night broadcast for the week, with Canyon Ridge and Twin Falls battling in the Service Bowl. In 2017 IdahoSports.com will partner with the Times-News and magicvalley.com to bring unmatched coverage of area teams all season long.
Other notable games to watch on the 15th include Carey at Lighthouse Christian, Rocky Mountain at Mountain View and Clarkston (WA) at Lewiston.
Thursday, Sept. 21 through Saturday, Sept. 23 features 14 games in total currently on the schedule, with more looking to be added.
On the 21st Eagle is at Kuna and Mountain View takes on Boise.
Great games are on the docket for the 22nd with a pivotal 2A WIC affair pitting the New Plymouth Pilgrims at Nampa Christian, a 3A SRV tilt with Weiser at Homedale and Madison at Hillcrest some of the highlights.
Skyline and Idaho Falls battle for the right to paint the goal posts on the 23rd from Ravsten Stadium, with that Emotion Bowl broadcast rounding out the weekend of games.
