It's been a busy few weeks for those of us with IdahoSports.com, covering the 2016 'Girls Real Dairy Shootout', the State Wrestling Tournament at Holt Arena in Pocatello and following along with boys basketball district tournament play to see how the brackets would fill in. Now, all six classifications have the brackets set for the 2016 'Boys Real Dairy Shootout' set to begin on Thursday.

The classification I will be covering is the 1AD2 tournament at Caldwell High School. In that field of eight there are countless storylines. The Carey Panthers look to repeat as state champions in the 11th consecutive trip to the tournament for the school. On the other side of the spectrum, the Genesis Prep Jaguars make their first appearance in the tournament in the first year of eligibility with the IHSAA for the school. Ranked #1 heading into the weekend, Council has not lost to any team from Idaho, with their three losses coming to 21-6 Monument-Dayville (OR) and 19-8 Union (OR). Can Dietrich break through this year and advance to the state championship for the first time since winning the whole thing in 1966? Will the Rockland Bulldogs find a way to get back into the big game after losing First Team All-Idaho honoree Rex Permann from last season? Do 6'7" Wyatt Hardin of Kendrick and 6'4" Patrick Chmelik of Summit Academy create matchup nightmares throughout the tournament? Will the phrase 'defense wins championships' continue to prove accurate? If so, watch out for Clark County, as the Bobcats have allowed just 36 points per game on the campaign, the lowest of any team in the field. If you can't make it to the Treasure Valley to see all these storylines and more play out from all six classifications and 66 games, follow along right here on IdahoSports.com. You can even watch four games at once. Give it a try!
