BOYS SOCCER
- Mountain View has continued its dominance at the 6A level, coming off a 6-0 shutout of Rocky Mountain. The Mavericks hosted a tough Bishop Kelley team last night and came out with the win, 4-0. Bishop Kelley had won four of their last five games before last night’s matchup.
- Jerome has continued their stand atop the 5A ranks with a 7-0-1 record. The Tigers held off a tough Wood River team at home. Wood River had won their last 4 games before suffering the defeat to Jerome. Wood River currently sits at 6-2 on the season. Look out for Caldwell as well, who has won seven in a row after their opening-night loss to Bishop Kelley.
- In an important 4A clash this last week, Teton defeated Sugar Salem 5-2, giving the Diggers their first loss of the season. Teton still boasts a 5-0 record as they sit atop the 4A standings. Wendell is a team to watch with a 6-0-2 record, and they will face their toughest test of the season on September 26 against Sugar-Salem.
GIRLS SOCCER
- Top-ranked Timberline hosts Rocky Mountain tonight in an important matchup. Timberline has looked great against other top teams in Lake City and Mountain View earlier in the season. Rocky Mountain will look to upset to Timberline tonight and give them their first loss of the season.
- Hillcrest has yet to suffer a loss this season, and has only tied with Skyline once earlier this season. Hillcrest will play Bonneville and Idaho Falls before setting up a big rematch with Skyline September 23. Also look out for Twin Falls and Vallivue as teams at the top of the 5A standings.
- Fruitland and Kimberly are each undefeated atop the 4A standings. Fruitland will host 7-1 McCall-Donnelly on September 17 in an important conference match. Kimberly plays Buhl tonight. Sugar Salem plays a couple tough games at Timberlake and Twin Falls this next week as they look to stay atop the 4A standings.
