WEEK ONE

Week 2 brought us many great battles. Here’s a quick overview of some BIG WINS:

Madison beat Shelley, Idaho Falls, and Pocatello. 
Rigby defeated Shelley, Idaho Falls, and Bonneville. 
Butte County swept Hagerman and Malad. 
Ambrose swept Cole Valley Christian and Fruitland. 
Filer defeated Horseshoe Bend in five sets and Wood River in three. 
Kimberly defeated Snake River in four. 
Skyview swept Rocky Mountain and Meridian. 
Bear Lake is currently 3-0 after battling with 3 out of state teams this past week at the Cokeville Invitational in Wyoming. 

To round it all out, Post Falls had a busy week defeating north Idaho rivals Sandpoint, Lakeland, and Lewiston.

Peyton Barclift is a name that is not new to the club volleyball scene, but this powerhouse from Post Falls will be a name you won’t soon forget. Barclift is a freshman at Post Falls and she is currently leading her team in kills and hitting percentage, showing how an experienced freshman can help her team in big ways. 

Seeing Peyton’s energy and effort is something that will always stand out. When players are able to play for their teammates and play with high intensity and emotion, it brings more to the game and is so fun to watch.

Post Falls has a mixture of Barclift (a freshman), along with sophomores, juniors, and seniors on their varsity roster. This team will be one to keep an eye on as the season progresses. 

Post Falls gets opportunities to play schools from other states as well, which is great to help elevate their game and keep them more of a mystery for the southern teams of Idaho. 

Post Falls’ next opponent is Coeur d’Alene, which should be a great match! Coeur d’Alene is currently 9-1 with their only loss coming from Ambrose. Both teams look strong going into this match.

The Vikings, just like many teams, lost some key players to graduation, but their junior class has seven on the roster. The experience from this class, with a good mix of freshmen, juniors, and seniors, has allowed them to find a rhythm. Coeur d’Alene sits at #2 in the Idaho 6A rankings currently. It is early in the season but showing consistency early is always a good thing!

We will be watching this north battle, as it will definitely be one to tune into! Good luck to all teams this week as we are looking forward to more fun times for Idaho high school volleyball!
