North Idaho Coaches Weigh Pros And Cons Of Shortened Winter Season

The Idaho High School Activities Association Board voted 12-2 to shorten the winter sports season at its most recent meeting.

The Coeur d'Alene Press polled a few coaches in north Idaho, and most were opposed to the move, which would shorten the winter sports calendar by a week.

While coaches agreed that fewer overall practices is ideal, they are against losing two dates off of the game schedule, which is what the current motion proposes.

Former Skyline Star Selected By New York Jets In NFL Draft

For the second consecutive year, an Idaho native was selected in the first round of the National Football League's Draft.

Former Skyline standout Kenyon Sadiq, who recently finished a three-year run as a tight end at the University of Oregon, was drafted 16th overall by the New York Jets.

Another Idaho tight end, former Gooding Senator and Michigan Wolverine Colston Loveland, went 10th overall to the Chicago Bears in the 2025 Draft.
