1. Cooper Holt (Mackay)
Holt's versatility was on display, particularly on defense, during the Miners' 38-0 win over Dietrich on Friday. He had six tackles (one for loss), a sack, two interceptions, and a fumble recovery, while catching four passes on offense in the victory.
2. Levi Gehring (Prairie)
Gehring collected four total touchdowns, three rushing and one receiving, in the Pirates' season-opening win over Deary. He finished the game with 90 rushing yards as the team heads into a big non-conference game on Friday against Valley.
3. Jon Denke (Coeur du Christ Academy)
The junior RB/LB scored the game's first four touchdowns, all in the opening quarter, setting the tone for the Saints' 64-28 win over Clark Fork on Friday. He finished with five scores as Coeur du Christ (2-0) has nearly matched last season's win total (3) through two weeks.

Meeting In The Middle
Several years ago, a group of athletic directors got together and created the Idaho 8-Man (no relation) Classic, where a group of teams would meet in Middleton and play games against each other to start the season. While the Classic is no longer played, the meet-in-the-middle, neutral-site concept has taken hold. Kendrick played each of its first two games in Homedale. Oakley played in Homedale last Friday and will play in Payette this Friday against Potlatch. Butte County will play a second game in the Boise area, in Greenleaf, later in September against Tri-Valley. Council and Lakeside played this past Friday in Cottonwood at Prairie High School. Prairie joins in the fun this Friday, playing Valley at New Plymouth High School. A tip of the cap to the coaches and athletic directors who have made these appealing matchups happen to strengthen their respective programs' non-conference schedule.
Play Of The Week
Wilder senior Ezra Johnson dropped deep to field the Horseshoe Bend punt, but fumbled the ball as a Mustang tackler hit him. The ball sat on the ground for a moment before Johnson got to his feet, picked the ball back up, and raced down the left sideline - breaking multiple tackles along the way - for a Wildcat touchdown.
