Game locations
Why is Firth having to travel to northern Idaho? Wasn't for the ranked higher than Grangeville? Firth won their conference but are to play on Grangeville home field. Yet there are teams who came out of their conference second their and they have home field advantage?!!

Hey Bd2024, Appreciate your question! Firth traveling to Grangeville is a direct result of IHSAA reliance upon MaxPreps...for anything…including rankings and playoff seedings. To your question, here is some criteria to consider: Nampa Christian and Grangeville won their conferences. Nampa Christian beat non-conference Grangeville...22-6… in the last regular season game, Friday 10-25-24. Both teams finished 6-3 after that game. Outcomes of the criteria above, per MaxPreps? Nampa Christian is seeded 8th while Grangeville is seeded 4th, hence the messed up playoff pairing of Firth at Grangeville. Some might respond, here, and suggest or insist that the MaxPreps rankings are based upon so called “strength of schedule”. That is always the first excuse for the MaxPreps mess that results in complete disregard of actual in-season outcomes.…as if some algo or geek can possibly ascertain the intricacies and history of Idaho prep football within a given season, let alone over multiple seasons. MaxPreps is a mess, behind the scenes and always has been. You can thank CBS Sports, they own it. CBS also owns the blur that is Pixelot, aka: The NFHS Network….when it works…when you can see it...

IdahoSports.com Is A Blessing
The best streaming coverage, since streaming prep sports in Idaho became doable, was and is done by IdahoSports.com. Almost no other state in our republic has such an amazing service that I have seen...I have been involved in prep sports since 1975 and still am, having coached and or done play-by-play and live PA in 7 states over that time. I have never run into another broadcasting service or web site reporting anywhere near the depth and quality of IdahoSports.com. Idaho is blessed in many ways...and for prep sports, that blessing is IdahaSports.com

• EXCEPTION: District 1/2 champion will be seeded #4 unless earning a higher rank This is the exception that is listed on the IDHSAA website on the bracket for the 3A state playoffs. The seeding in the tournament had nothing to do with the final Maxpreps rankings for Grangeville. They were going to be seed no lower than #4 going in.

MaxPreps also takes into account the teams' opponents, quality wins, as well as PF and PA.

Might want to check the score on the Firth/Grangeville game. Pretty sure it was 15 - 12 Firth

Don’t Blame NFHS
NFHS is great…when the camera placement is considered prior to the school installing it. Schools also have to ensure it’s working for the games and that the scoreboard is visible Fruitland has their set-up perfect…for basketball. They have also had commentators at most of the BBB games. With basketball, I’ve found where some teams won’t stream games. That error message hurts my chest
