Just like last week's semifinals, we select one 3 Stars honoree from each team that participated in the 1A state championship football games last week.

1A Division 2: Kendrick 42, Dietrich 34

Dietrich: Payten Sneddon.
The talented senior ran the ball six times for 72 yards with one touchdown.  He also hauled in four passes for 141 yards and two scores, meaning he had over 200 yards of total offense and three touchdowns against a Kendrick defense that had allowed one touchdown - TOTAL - since September 9.

Kendrick: Sawyer Hewett. As usual, plenty of candidates from the (now) defending 1A Division 2 state champion.  Hewett, a sophomore, had 137 rushing yards and two scores while adding 120 yards and two scores receiving for the Tigers.  His 54-yard dash to the end zone with just over two minutes left wound up being the game-winning score.

1A Division 1: Oakley 58, Grace 20

Grace: Tytan Anderson.
With his team trailing in the second quarter, he authored a pair of scoring drives, the first one ending with an Anderson touchdown run and the second one ending with an Anderson touchdown pass, to get Grace back into the game.  He added a second touchdown pass in the second half which meant he had a hand in all three of Grace's scores.

Oakely: Bry Severe.  After being selected second-team All-State last fall as a sophomore, Severe missed much of this season due to an injury.  But in the biggest game, he made two of the biggest plays.  After Grace rallied to cut Oakley's lead to ten points at halftime, he returned the opening kickoff of the second half for a touchdown and then scored a 21-yard run in the third quarter to help the Hornets re-establish control.  He finished with three touchdowns in all.
