With district tournaments already underway in most conferences across Idaho, the season will be, sadly, ending for most teams. Only the top 48 girls basketball teams will make it to the “Big Dance” and only six of those teams will be crowned state champions on Saturday February 19 at the Ford Idaho Center.
You can follow along with all of the girls district tournaments here so you can see who your favorite team might be playing in a couple of weeks.

The biggest advantage we have here at IdahoSports.com over other media outlets is our ability to know what’s going on around the state during the regular season. We don’t just cover one particular geographical area. We have a bird’s eye view of what’s going on statewide.
This is the first year that the first round of the state basketball tournament will be seeded. Each district is still allotted a certain number of teams based on representation, but after district tournaments are over, the teams that are “in” will be seeded 1-8 based on their REGULAR SEASON Maxpreps.com ranking.
