The Idaho High School Activities Association Board of Directors voted unanimously Wednesday morning to renew its contract with IdahoSports.com as the exclusive webcast provider of the IHSAA.
The three-year contract gives IdahoSports.com exclusive internet broadcasting rights for all IHSAA-sponsored state tournament events.
“We’re excited and pleased to renew our contract with IdahoSports.com,” said John Billetz, the Executive Director of the IHSAA. “They have always been great to work with and need to be complimented for all they have done, and will continue to do, for our schools and the student-athletes of Idaho.”
IdahoSports.com has been providing online high school sports information since 1997 including scores, schedules, power rankings and photo galleries . In 2004, they began offering online streaming of high school events and, in 2005, became the first official webcaster of the IHSAA. This continued on a year-to-year basis until 2010 when, after a public bidding process, the IHSAA awarded IdahoSports.com a three-year contract for the exclusive Internet broadcasting rights. That three-year contract was set to expire at the end of the 2012-13 school year.
“We have really enjoyed providing this service for the IHSAA, its schools, and its fans for nearly a decade now and we’ll continue to do everything we can to exceed the expectations of the IHSAA,” Paul Kingsbury, the owner of IdahoSports.com, said. “We’re honored that the Board of Directors has put their trust in us again to provide online broadcasts of events for friends, families and fans who can’t be there themselves.”
The contract approved by the Board of Directors on Tuesday begins next fall, the 2013-14 academic year, and expires at the conclusion of the 2015-16 academic year.
