How is seeding for state tourneys determined? Is it based solely on the Power Rankings? Or are there other criteria considered other than/in addition to these rankings?

Seeding for State Tournaments is based off the ranking on MaxPreps. Since this process has been implemented, my opinion is the tournaments are better matched.

Seeding pt 2
...what I mean is, the tournament games are more of what is expected at the state competition level.

Thanks that’s helpful. So they use the MaxPreps rankings, not the Idaho Sports Power Rankings (assuming they aren’t the same thing)? That does seem to have made the seeding for the tournaments more like the NCAA’s, where they are seeded more like their actual performance level.
