After a 1-8 mark in Sean Impomeni’s first season with the Ridgevue Warhawks, the team will seek to get things turned around in year two. A difficult schedule lies ahead, but can the Warhawks make some noise?

Parker Lantham, Caleb D’Angelo, Cash McKie, and Isaiah Kasper are key returning players for the Warhawks. Mitchell Basterechea, Demond Portis, Jason Bauscher, and Grady Heil are key players that graduated and will be missed for their talent and explosiveness in the positions that they played.

Cash McKie is an experienced running back that will be the anchor of Ridgevue’s running game. The passing game will look to improve and Impomeni believes that this will help the run game to be more effective.

The defense will have youth and as such, the goal will be getting this youth to step up into their new roles. Tackling, creating turnovers, and finding a leader to step up are key elements to creating a strong unit on this side of the ball, according to Impomeni.

Impomeni is excited for the growth and development he has seen from his team this offseason. “Our kids have worked extremely hard in the offseason in all facets of the game,” he said. “I’m hoping this dedication will create a stronger culture that will result in more wins. We have to have success early!”

Ridgevue will play its first two games of the season on the road first making the quick trip over to Dona Larsen Park in Boise to take on the Brave before a long trip to Eastern Idaho to face Pocatello. The Warhawks then get two straight at home versus Bishop Kelly and Canyon Ridge before going on the road for two straight games. After trips to Caldwell and Vallivue, Ridgevue welcomes Columbia and Skyview before traveling to Emmett for the regular season finale.

Ridgevue has struggled to make much noise at the state level since the program started in 2016, but with the changes made in the offseason, the Warhawks will look to show signs of progress in 2023.
