Team Preview

Sandpoint will be looking to make it to State for the fourth straight year. Third year coach Duane Ward will more than welcome that opportunity. The past two seasons, Sandpoint has played in the third-place game winning it last season.

Getting set to do battle at the 4A level in the Inland Empire League, the Bulldogs will find themselves face-to-face in tough battles with Lakeland and Moscow. With only a three-team league, every game will be of great importance in the fight for the automatic State bid.

All-League and All-State selection Grace Kirscher (junior) will be poised to lead her team looking for that fourth straight trip. She will be joined by senior guard Taylor Ward, junior guard Katherine Kaul, and sophomore forward Grace Hicks. Add a transfer from Bonners Ferry in junior guard Trinity Golder and the Bulldogs may look small, but to Coach Ward they look fast.

The question marks with this team are with rebounding and finding consistent scoring game in and game out. Their pressure and attack mode style defense hopes to allow for easier scoring opportunities.

If the Bulldogs are able to fins that consistent scoring that Coach Ward wants, his team will find themselves back in the State tournament for a fourth straight season.
