Twin Falls went young last season and should reap the benefits in the new year.

Back is Second Team All-Conference guard Zach Malina, along with fellow backcourt mates Drew Meyerhoeffer and Preston Meyerhoeffer.

Perhaps the biggest additions to push the Bruins back into the upper echelon in conference play will be 6'7" Mitchell Brizee and 6'8" Ryan Ball.

On the defensive end the combination of quickness and experience on the guard line mixed with the added influx of height on the interior could make Twin Falls difficult to score against.

"Zach Malina is our shut down defensive player along with Dylan Wilkinson who is a defensive specialist," said Head Coach Matt Harr. "Our height this year may allow us to play some zone pressure schemes."

Harr added that Twin Falls was too "soft" a season ago. To get back on track the Bruins will look to be as physical as some of their top of the conference teams of recent years.

Offensively look for a scoring punch that go inside and out, something that the coaching staff is excited to see play out.

"We should be much more balanced this year with quickness and experience on the outside and height on the inside."

With four returning starters, the recipe is put together to see improvement in virtually every area on the floor.

On top of the four returning starters, the exciting new talent will give Twin Falls some much needed depth.

"We like to play upbeat on offense and press full time on defense. We were not able to do that last year because of our lack of depth. We should be much better this year."

With Minico having lost some talent, the field should be tightening up in conference play between the Spartans, Burley Bobcats and Twin Falls. Look for plenty of close games in February as the trio battles for the state tournament spots.
