Last season, the Rams welcomed a 6’7” senior transfer, Grant Wallace, who had the ability to play both inside and out and opened the floor for everyone else on the floor while creating mismatches. The Rams made it to the final District tournament game before falling to Genesee.

Coach Aaron Skinner will be entering his third season with four seniors focused on using their speed at both ends to create tipping opportunities and cleaning up loose balls to create fast break points. With the loss of their size, rebounding could become an issue and is a high concern for the Rams. That and it is a must that the zone defense must improve in the tough Whitepine 1A D1 Conference. Taking on opponents like Lapwai, Prairie, Troy, and Genesee, all teams who can put up points, it is very important for the defense to be strong and make opportunities difficult for the opposition.

“We are in a bit of a rebuilding stage. It will be great to watch this team grow throughout the season,” says an encouraged Coach Skinner. “We must find consistent shooting within our team.”

Skinner and his Rams will look to senior point guard Trey Pfefferkorn to create some consistency, stability, and leadership. Fellow seniors Kamm Mangun and Mitch Morrow will be called on to hold down the inside and attempt to create some easy opportunities inside. The part of the game will open opportunities around the perimeter for Pfefferkorn and fellow senior Josh Kolb.

The games that fans should get excited about this season is the Upriver Rampage games against rivals Kamiah just down the road.
