Do you have any new incoming “impact” players?
Jack Riggs- O-line, D-line, Senior. Cody Arellano, Running Back, Defensive Back, Sophomore.
As a team, what are your offensive strengths?
We have a big line this year including team captain and motivational leader, senior Jack Riggs in the center position. We have an explosive backfield with Sophomore Cody Arellano, last years leading rusher, and Senior Riley Hedeluis who had a lot of big carries for us last year. We are hoping to capitalize on our big line and quick backfield.

Offensive areas you hope to improve on over last year:
Scoring touchdowns. Establishing the run early on during the game. Lineman holding blocks and running backs hitting holes hard. Connecting to open receivers down field and the overall passing game.

As a team, what are your defensive strengths?
We have a strong core of linebackers led by sophomore Brady Turner. Turner has natural football skills and has spent a lot of time in the weight room this off season. Turner is hoping all of his hard work will pay off this season. Senior Nico Guerrero brings a lot of power and quickness from the defensive end position. Guerrero also doubles as a hole stuffer the linebacker position.

Defensive Areas you hope to improve on over last year:
Stopping the run. We had trouble stopping the run this past season and we are hoping to have more success in that area this season.

Does your team have a motto/theme for the upcoming season?
Making Gainz. We plan on Making all kinds of Gainz in on the football field, the classroom, and the community this season. Its all about Making Gainz.

What are you most excited about in regards to this year’s team?
Playing 8 man football. This fast paced, high scoring game should be a lot of fun to coach, watch, and play.

For the fans, what is the must-see game of the year on your schedule?
Valley September 12th. Both teams dropped to 8 man football this season and have been rivals since the early 1990’s in 11-man football.

What is the ‘X-Factor’ to having success this season as a team?
Hard work and hustle

Besides the pay, the fame and the glory, why do you coach high school football?
There is nothing better than seeing a kids face after his first big varsity hit. The excitement and intensity these young athletes bring to practices and games everyday keeps us motivated and excited about high school football.

What makes your school the best place to coach for?
Glenns Ferry has been a football town since the 1980s, it is fun to coach for a town that has such a deep rooted love for the game.
