Any “Key Players” that you lost from last year?
Griffin Green, QB - Was a two-year starter and great leader. Brody Hubbard, WR - First team All-State, holds every receiver record at MHS. Nishon Neal, TE/LB - The leader of the team. K.C. Snyder RB/CB - Heart of the Malad football team last season. Jason Jensen, OT/DT - Biggest guy on our team, always going 100%.

Do you have any new incoming “impact” players?
Calvin Willie WR/LB Junior, Bracken Willie OT/DL Junior, Carson Cobabe OL/DL Junior, Hugo Ramos OL/DL Junior, Josh Morley RB/DL Junior, Josh Howden OL/DL Sophomore.
As a team, what are your offensive strengths?
Carson Hoskins, Derek Checketts, Michael Gallegos, Braxton Clark, Eric Eliason, Brett Roedl. Our team this year will have to play team football, put stats aside and play doing it for your teammates" football. All 11 of our players will have to play for each other, give it 110% and go out there and do whatever it takes to win. Offensive Strength for us will be our speed. We are very fast and we will have to use that to our advantage.

Offensive areas you hope to improve on over last year:
The whole group will have to improve for our team to keep up with all the talented teams in our district. We all must get better.

As a team, what are your defensive strengths?
Michael Gallegos, Derek Checketts, Eric Eliason, Wyatt Martin, David Smith. Defensively, we have to improve drastically for us to be in games. We have to concentrate on stopping the running game. Our biggest defensive strength is our experience on defense. We bring back a lot of student athletes that played last season so they are all really familiar with our defensive philosophy.

Defensive Areas you hope to improve on over last year:
Every area on defense must improve drastically, in terms of all the fundamentals of defensive football.

Does your team have a motto/theme for the upcoming season?
Beat Average.

What are you most excited about in regards to this year’s team?
The Potential of this 2014 Team

For the fans, what is the must-see game of the year on your schedule?
Westside (Rivalry Game)

What is the ‘X-Factor’ to having success this season as a team?
Staying Positive, Keeping Grades Up, No Injuries.

Besides the pay, the fame and the glory, why do you coach high school football?
I have loved football since I was a little kid. I played it at a collegiate level and I have always wanted to be a head coach at the high school level. I love talking football 365 days a year.

What makes your school the best place to coach for?
The support of the community and the school has been amazing. The student athletes are always ready to learn and love football as well.
