As a team, what are your offensive strengths?
We are returning a strong backcourt, and we will be playing to their strength.

As a team, what are your defensive strengths?
We will be applying a pressure team defensive system that will create transition opportunities for our offense.

What are you most excited about in regards to this year’s team?
The positive attitude and enthusiasm of the team throughout the summer was excellent. Many of the players have been enjoying the success of their volleyball season. I’m looking forward to extending that success into the basketball season.

For the fans, what is the must-see game of the year on your schedule?
A must-see game this year will be the district championship that we will be playing in! The second will take place the next week on Saturday in Boise!

What is the ‘X-Factor’ to having success this season as a team?
Our success will depend on how well we trust each other and play together. The ability of our team to play defense as a team and not individually will be a major factor in our success.

If you could change one rule in high school basketball, what would it be?
I would add a shot clock, not to increase the pace of the game, but to not allow teams to stall. So maybe a 45 second shot clock.

Besides the pay, the fame and the glory, why do you coach high school basketball?
Basketball is the best sport team sport in the world! It requires a team of 10-12 individuals to come together, trust, depend on, and accept the capabilities (and limitations) of other teammates. A team that comes together in this way can compete with, and often beat, teams with better talent.
