Team Preview

Charli Sadler, a 5-foot-3 junior, is a returning all-North Star League selection for the Tigers, who are coming off a 7-12 season.

Sadler and Robbyn Trogden, a 5-6 senior, will be Mullan's focal points offensively and defensively.

"We're looking to be a more confident offensive team," said Sherry Leitz, who has been Mullan's coach for 10 years, "looking for the open shot and getting the ball down the court quickly."

Also back for Mullan this season are Kayla Gribble, a 5-5 senior; Bree Ploharz, a 5-4 senior; Samantha Stepro, a 5-8 junior; Audie Auger, a 5-3 sophomore; and Yazmin Gallaway, a 5-2 sophomore.

Mullan will try to overcome a couple of key losses in post Sydnie Koenig and guard Kaitlin Gribble. Leitz said she will miss Koenig's inside play and her height, and she will miss Gribble's defensive play.

This year, Leitz said she'd like to see the Tigers communicate more on defense, and work on the transition game.

Mullan will compete with Clark Fork, Kootenai and Lakeside for one berth to the state 1A Division II tournament, scheduled for Feb. 19-21 at Nampa High.
