Things have been rough on the gridiron for Mountain Home for quite some time now, with no seasons of more than one win since 2010, something the Tigers hope to change this year.

Playing in a brutal 4A SIC Mountain Home has struggled to turn things around over the past handful of seasons.

Third year Head Coach Jim Clark will be dealing with low numbers partially due to losing 20 kids to graduation, something which will make the challenge as difficult as ever.

Only 32 players have come out for the Tigers in total to use between both the JV and varsity rosters.

Junior quarterback Zach Walden is one of the key players to watch for on the field this season, and he is joined by wide receivers Nehemiah Parker and Walker Harris in the aerial unit for Mountain Home.

Senior Sergio Figueroa looks to receive a heavy bulk of the workload in the back field to complement Walden and the passing unit.

On the defensive side of the football the Tigers are led in the middle of things by linebacker Austin Tetault.

While the path in front of Mountain Home to compete with the upper tier teams in conference play is a tough one, there are coachable athletes in place according to Clark, which is something any coach always hopes for.

In order for this team to achieve the maximum amount of successes possible it will take a fairly injury free season and smart football that minimizes turnovers and penalties to keep the Tigers in games.

Looking ahead at the schedule for Mountain Home, the Ridgevue, Caldwell and Columbia games represent the best chances for wins, with big challenges within the 4A SIC sprinkled around those contests. The Tigers get the season started on August 25 at Jerome.
