The 1st Annual 'Kick-Off Crossover Classic' will be held at Mountain View High School in Meridian on Saturday, Dec. 12. It is a boys basketball event for small schools throughout districts 3 and 4 to get early season, non-traditional matchups.
"We hope this event will expand and become a new tradition in small school Idaho basketball," said Dr. Rob Waite, the head coach of the Shoshone boys basketball team and Shoshone superintendent. "The event is designed to kick off the year by playing what we hope are good match-ups against teams that might not ordinarily play each other on a neutral, big gym site."
The first edition of this event will feature four games total, beginning at noon on Dec. 12.
"The event is modeled after other events in other states," said Waite. "We hope it expands to have all expected top teams in various leagues play each other as a way to see where we all stand at the beginning of the year."
All four of these games will be broadcast LIVE right here on IdahoSports.com.
